In recent months the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) has waged an all-out war on the civil and political society of Iran.
They have arrested many of the 14 signatories of a statement demanding the resignation of IRI leader Ayatollah Khamenei. They include Messrs. The signatories of this statement, The Union for Secular Republic and Human Rights in Iran, United Republicans of Iran, The Left Party of Iran (PF), demand the immediate release of those who have been arrested against their basic human rights and we hold the Islamic Republic of Iran responsible for their safety and well-being.
President Rouhani is due to visit the United States in late September to attend the annual General Assembly of the United Nations. We hope Honorable António Guterres and International human rights organizations press him to release these innocent people.
