Happy New Year
Union for secular Republic and Human Rights in Iran wishes you a happy and a prosperous New Year 2020. May the New Year bring peace, justice and respect for all humanity.
Unfortunately for many countries 2019 did not end on a happy note.
Injustice and war continue across the globe. For the Iranian people especially, 2019 is coming to an end when a peaceful protests by the people were brutally crushed by the security forces of the Islamic Republic. In a recent report published by Reuters, up to 1500 people may have been killed.
According to the same report, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran had ordered the security forces to end the protest at any cost and by any means.
Yet, we are hopeful for 2020. Our organization’s New Year pledge is to:
- Continue its struggle against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
- Pursue to unite similar minded Iranians believing in a secular republic for Iran.
- Continue to seek the support of international community to support Iranian people’s struggle for democracy and human rights.
We have a hard road ahead of us but we are grateful for the support we have received by the international community.
We hope this support will continue and expand as our struggle outside of our country will encourage our fellow Iranians inside to continue with their struggle to gain their justly deserved respect and dignity they rightly deserve.
President Rouhani who won the presidency with the slogan of freedom for Iranians has failed them miserably.
With chapters in many countries, our organization is in a great position to provide ample information about the human rights injustices by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
