USRHR letter of Appreciation to UN experts

July 23, 2020

Dear Sirs and Madams,

We recently read your July 22nd letter titled "UN experts call for the urgent release from prison of human rights defender with COVID-19 symptoms."

Our organization, the Union for Secular Republic and Human Rights in Iran, sincerely thanks you and appreciates your effort to bring some human dignity to the Iranian people during these hard times.

Iran is a country of magnificent landscapes and incredible history, filled with scientists, poets, inventors and so on. However, it is also a country plagued by bloodied dictatorship over the last 41 years.

Islamic Republic of Iran’s human rights violations (https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2019/country-chapters/iran) speaks volumes and needs not elaboration. Torture and death are now the norm of Iranian people, to name a few: rape and murder of prisoners, public executions of political activists, execution of minors, execution of religious minorities specially those of the Baha’i faith, no freedom of expression; and kidnap and torture of opposition inside Iran and in other countries.  The suffering of Iranian’s now is similar to the suffering of European Jews during world war two at the hand of Nazis; in that the world stood by, watched, and did nothing then as it is doing nothing now. World war two atrocities ended within a few years. The Iran’s and the Iranian’s plight has gone on for over 41 years with no end at sight.

Third generation of Iranians are now victims to genocide and oppression. The world is standing by, worse even knowingly takes no action to stop the crimes of the Islamic Republic of Iran against humanity.

We actively work to expose the humanitarian crimes of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s government and to unravel these crimes by legal and reasonable means available to us. A July 2020 campaign of #StopExecutonsInIran whereby the immediate execution order of 3 young men has been postponed by way of judicial review; is one example of how international support can deliver justice even in the most unlikely circumstances.

We are, herewith, offering our support and expertise to work with you and to support you in your Human Rights activities. With your high profile and with our expertise there can only be positive results to be achieved. We have a number or Human Rights activists and representative across the world, especially in Europe and North America, whom can be your direct point(s) of contact.

Dear friends,

Can we kindly ask you to contact us for an initial conversation to understand how we can be of assistance to you please? We look forward to hearing from you and to working with you to achieve great humanitarian results in a country that has been deprived of Human Rights for over 41 years.

Yours sincerely
