USRHR letter to World Health Organization

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

Director General

World Health Organisation (WHO)

August 15, 2021

Dear Dr. Tedros

COVID19 - Islamic Republic of Iran

We, the Union for Secular Republic & Human Rights in Iran, are writing to you to highlight the gravity of public health in Iran.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the Islamic Republic of Iran has actively participated in and encouraged the spread of the virus through their deliberate organising of mass gatherings and public events. There has been very little attempt, if any, by the authorities to source any form of vaccination or medical care for the population. Any vaccines donated by foreign governments have ended up in the international black market and have not made it to the general public.

At the moment, according to verified sources, one person loses their life to COVID-19 every two minutes. These deaths are all due to the incompetence, corruption, deliberate acts, and omissions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This is all whilst the Iranian government officials state on record that they have deliberately misled WHO and the international community about the gravity of the situation and the actual colossal numbers of COVID-19 deaths.

We hereby ask you to please consider arranging for the Iranian people to receive vaccination through International Aid and within a WHO supervised programme, so that the ordinary Iranians can be vaccinated and further deliberate loss of life is avoided.

Yours Sincerely

Union for Secular Republic and Human Rights in Iran
