There is Justice for Iranians in this world!
After months of deliberation a court in Sweden has handed a life sentence to Hamid Nouri (AKA Abassi) an Iranian official detained in Sweden in November 2019. Nouri was found guilty of being a key figure in the 1988 executions of Iranian political prisoners, where thousands of Iranians were massacred.
The Union for Secular Republic and Human Rights in Iran, hails this victory for justice and we look forward to seeing others involved in this crime to be brought to justice.
Among those involved in the 88 massacre is the current President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi.
For many years their families were seeking justice and unfortunately many of them have passed away to see this victory.
Currently there are a few Iranian-Swedish citizens who are held in Iran and we hope his sentence does not become a bargaining chip for their release.
Often the Islamic Republic of Iran takes dual citizens hostage as a means to pursue their goals and unfortunately many times we have witnessed other countries relent to their demands. Our hope is this time they don't.
Again we salute justice in Sweden. Iranian People cannot rely on justice in their own country as it does not exist. It is up to democratic nations such as Sweden to provide this justice.
