Iran: Stop harassment of our Baha’I Compatriots

Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states: "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."

With the rise of the wave of repressions of the last few months in Iran, unfortunately, our Baha'i compatriots have not been spared from the sting of these waves, and in the last few days we have witnessed the arrest of several of these dear ones, including Mahvash Sabet and Fariba Kamalabadi.

This is indicative of extensive preparations for further violation of the human rights of Baha'is. We condemn this obvious violation of human rights of the Bahai’s in Iran and demand the immediate release of them and to end their abuses and harassment against our brothers and sisters of Baha’i faith.
