The deportation of Iranian asylum seekers, including Christian converts and political protestors, to Panama without due process is a serious violation of international refugee protections and puts lives at risk. These individuals face severe persecution in Iran, such as imprisonment, torture, or execution for their faith or dissent, making their deportation a violation of the principle of non-refoulement, which prohibits returning people to countries where they face danger.
We urge an immediate halt to these deportations and demand fair processing of all asylum claims, especially for vulnerable groups. Transferring asylum seekers to Panama, a nation unequipped to handle their cases, disregards international obligations and endangers human rights. Governments must prioritize justice, protection, and due process to prevent further harm.
