We stand with the People of Ukraine!
24 February 2025 marks the third anniversary of Russian aggression against Ukraine. Ukrainians will remember the events of this date for the third time, when early in the morning, Russia launched massive missile attacks on their cities and villages and its troops and tanks invaded the Ukrainian territory, sowing death and destruction.
This aggressive act of Russia was a gross breach of the international law and a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of an independent, UN member state.
Since the start of the battle, three years have now passed. For three years Ukrainians have put up courageous resistance, battling an enemy far stronger and far more numerous that they are.
Russia makes desperate attempts to move westwards, to conquer the whole of Ukraine and to annex it to itself. If succeeded, Russia, will not stop there and soon the whole Europe will be a killing field for numerous armies.
To make the matters worse, some theocratic or ideologically-driven states such as the Islamic Republic of Iran and North Korea, have also been involved in this unjust war by either providing military equipment and drones or, in the case of North Korea, soldiers.
As about the negotiations between the USA and Russia for ending the war, we believe that no durable peace agreement can be achieved without the participation of Ukraine in the negotiations and strong guarantees to prevent renewed Russian aggression.
The Hamgami Coalition for a Secular and Democratic Republic in Iran comprising of five political parties and organizations, stands with the people of Ukraine and condemns Russia’s aggression against the independent state of Ukraine. Vladimir Putin has been justly declared by the ICC as a criminal accused of committing crimes against humanity for unleashing this heinous war.
We also condemn the involvement of the Islamic Republic and North Korea in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and also their meddling in the internal affairs of other countries.
Russia must exit Ukraine and return all its confiscated land to its rightful owner.
