Interview with Parviz Mokhtari USRHR member International Committee- Germany

Q. Dear Mr. Mokhtari. Thank you for accepting our invitation for this interview. As a start can you tell us a little about yourself and political activities?

A. I was raised in a politically active family. My father worked for Iranian railways and at night for “Eteelaat” newspaper. We almost always had daily and weekly journals in our house.

Q. What do you see happening in political scenes in Iran?

A. Political conditions in Iran is very chronic and in profound crisis. As a result of the combination of economic, political, cultural and environmental challenges, and especially the harmful consequences of the adventurous foreign policy of exporting the Shi'ite revolution, the system has failed in its short term and long tern plans. Political scenes are not much deferent for the people. After 20 years of hope for reform, they have lost all hope.

Q. What do you think we Iranians living outside Iran do to help our fellow Iranians inside Iran?

A. We have positive role. I do not agree with those who believe we have no role or impact on what is happening inside Iran. Many of us have paid high price in fighting the theocratic regime in Iran and we have every right to provide our solutions.

Q. What about non-Iranians?

A. Because of globalism to seek support of non-Iranians is a must. But at the same time, until a political organization has not established an organic relationship with those inside Iran, It must refrain from accepting foreign government aid and must solely depend on NGOs and human rights organizations.
